Nos voisins resilient…
Coming up through BPS I had the pleasure of learning about the world alongside tons of Haitian kids. They always struck me as hard workers with tons of pride and always dressed in their finest. God only knows I would have never survived French class without my friends!
In hindsight, knowing more about the political instability many of those young kids had escaped along with my Vietnamese friends, it’s as if I were given a glimpse at my own ancestors 100 years prior…
They were hungry for the American dream!
I’m thinking of my old friends today and their families as Haiti endures yet another natural disaster…
If my history is any guide – I’m sure you will come back stronger!
