For Gerard…

For Gerard…

Twenty five years ago today, Dorchester lost one of its sons. Gerard Duchaney was taken from us much too soon like other beloved Dot Rats from his era with names like Maffie, Holloran, Noble, and Santangelo.  Even though Neponset lost a little piece of it’s fabric that day 25 years ago, when Gerard’s name is brought into the fold of a conversation, his legacy seems to invoke happiness and laughter in people to this day.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Duchaney family.

  • Always think of him. Weekly. Sometimes daily. Lit a candle for hiim in Charleston, SC in April, 2021, one of the only churches I could find open on a weekday. Will love him ’til the day I die..

    • Hello Ellen, this is Chris Duchaney, brother of Gerard. Thank you so much for your kind words. I do not know if we have ever met. Did you grow up with Gerard in Dorchester?
