Guru (Keith Elam) was one of the best rappers to ever come out of Boston. He had a distinct raspy voice with a smooth delivery that made him unique. He formed Gang Starr with the legendary DJ Premier. Unfortunately Guru lost his battle with cancer in 2010. I was listening to these guys on the way into work this morning and thinking of how unfair it was that he was passed over during the remembrance portion of the Grammys last year.

He was a brilliant man that came from a solid family and always gave back to the community. I got to meet Keith once years back, and just wanted post my own remembrance of this great guy from Roxbury….
