Sugah weighs in @ The Banshee…
A fellow Dot Rat, Boston Police officer and pro boxer Billy “Sugah” Traft was weighed in this afternoon at The Banshee Irish pub in Dorchester. Plenty of Billy’s fellow Dot Rats were on hand to show support.
Billy will be fighting tomorrow night at the first ever boxing match staged at Gillette Stadium. As if cutting weight was not enough to deal with Bill had a film crew following him around today. TNT and Donnie Wahlberg are teaming up to create a show on the Boston Police. Who better to showcase than a gang unit officer and pro boxer from Wahlberg’s neighborhood.
I have known Bill for a number of years now and he’s as solid as they come. We are all very proud to have him represent Dorchester. Tomorrow night…if you would like to watch him dish out an ass whipping…you can buy tickets here.

This is Tower Ladder 3 on Atlantic Ave. The video offers a pretty cool perspective because you realize how much skill it takes to get this beast through the narrow streets down there. Plus, you have to be quick….lives are on the line.
What’s striking here is the amount of a**holes trying to run across the street to beat out the fire truck…like they are going to get home 30 seconds faster. Now this is Boston’s Financial district and it’s obviously rush hour….and these people are supposed to be some of Boston’s brightest. If so, why would they play Frogger with a speeding 40,000 lbs truck? You know why? Because 100k in student loans doesn’t buy you common sense. Doesn’t anyone remember the story of Kevin Kelley? Such a sad day for the BFD…
I suppose every pedestrian in Boston thinks they own the street. Years back I had some dude over in the Back Bay actually kick a huge dent into my rear quarter panel because he felt like I should stop for him. He had a “Don’t Walk” and I had the green light for the record. Well…after I returned the favor with some strategically placed dents to his head…he seemed to realize fairly quickly he made a mistake. Probably not the Zen approach…but I’m a Dot Rat…and in my mind I have a right to defend myself and my property regardless of the sh*t laws in this state.
Hey…it beats getting a gun pulled on you….and it certainly beats getting pancaked by a fire truck. But I digress…Kudos to Boston Fire…you are certainly some of Boston’s finest!

A Dot Rat at Plaster Fun Time…
So I make the trek down to Braintree this evening to wish my God daughter a very happy birthday at Plaster Fun Time. Turning 4 is a pretty big deal and it was fun to watch a table full of little Dot Rats absolutely wreck the joint. I consider myself a renaissance man but I personally could never get into crafts. More times than not you could find me walking around the neighborhood looking for glassware and pottery to snipe…much to my parents dismay.
The party went well but about a half hour into it I couldn’t help but feel out of place. I kept thinking of that scene in Made where Vince Vaughn was being a fresh pr*ck to one of the workers at a similar operation. I even asked the chick working the room if they had ashtrays to paint…nobody laughed….WTF? But if there was ever a scene that captured my experience….this was it.
