Coffee with a Chef Boy…

Coffee with a Chef Boy…

On a cold day back in January at Dunks on Morrissey Boulevard I had the opportunity to sit and have a coffee with one of Boston’s hottest Hip Hop artists, Gio Dee.  The questions start at his early years to get a sense of how

Beats, Rhymes and Life…

Beats, Rhymes and Life…

A Tribe Called Quest….

Play any one of their songs and it can put me back to a simpler time in my life. Whether it was my first house party, or attending school at the Woodrow Wilson, even my first Dot Day (with Budweiser). Their music can usually bring a smile to my face. To me, they where almost like a Led Zeppelin of hip hop music. They took the genre in new directions and broke new ground with every album. And just like Zeppelin, I never had the chance to see them live. So, when their documentary came out a couple of years back I was absolutely pumped. Now through the magic of the internet I can share it with my fellow Dot Rats. This is the full length movie….

Ace of Spades…

Ace of Spades…

When you think of Motorhead, Ace of Spades is always the first song that comes to mind. It’s a timeless rock anthem that never seems to get old. The Xmas Effect…

The Xmas Effect…

Some of us can’t help but to feel shell shocked after the Christmas. Looking at your checking account and seeing the blood red -$52.16 is enough to drive most folks insane. We all have our ways of coping….most Dot Rats drink straight into New Years to numb the pain. Others grab a Viking helmet, dust of the old Casio keyboard and sing Major Tom till someone throws some money into one of 29 paper bags? Seems reasonable to me….
